STATEMENT OF FAITH
We, the Church, affirm our belief in the core doctrines of the Christian faith, grounded in the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. We believe in the following:
1. The Holy Scriptures We believe the Bible, consisting of 66 books in the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible Word of God. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith, conduct, and salvation, and is the complete revelation of God's will for humanity (Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). 2. The Nature of God We believe in one eternal God, existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and one in essence, purpose, and work (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19). 3. The Person of Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, was buried, and rose again. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 3:16-17; Romans 8:34). 4. The Holy Spirit We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from both the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to convict, regenerate, and empower believers for service, holiness, and witness. The Holy Spirit is to be worshiped and glorified, and He manifests His presence through gifts and fruits in the lives of believers (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8). 5. The Fall and Redemption of Man We believe that humanity was originally created in the image of God but fell into sin through disobedience, thus bringing spiritual death to all. Salvation is only possible through the atoning death of Jesus Christ, and it is by grace through faith that men and women are saved, born again, and reconciled to God (Genesis 1:26-31; Romans 3:23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:8-9). 6. Salvation and Justification We believe that salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, received by faith in Jesus Christ. Justification, regeneration, and the new birth are all made possible through Christ's sacrifice. Repentance, faith, and obedience to God’s Word are essential to the Christian life (Romans 10:9-10; Titus 3:5-7). 7. Sanctification and Holiness We believe in the sanctification of the believer, which is an ongoing process of being set apart for God’s purposes. Sanctification is accomplished by the Holy Spirit as believers live in obedience to God’s Word and are conformed to the image of Christ. Holiness is the standard of living for God's people (1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14). 8. Water Baptism We believe in water baptism by immersion for all believers as a public declaration of faith. Baptism should be administered in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, only to those who repent and believe Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. It symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4). 9. Baptism in the Holy Spirit We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct and subsequent experience to the new birth, empowering believers for effective witness and service. The initial physical evidence of this baptism is speaking in tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11). 10. Divine Healing We believe that divine healing is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is available to all believers. Prayer, anointing with oil, and the laying on of hands are biblical practices for seeking healing and deliverance from sickness (Isaiah 53:4; James 5:14-16). 11. The Lord’s Supper We believe in the observance of the Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and wine, as a memorial of Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection. It is to be observed by all believers who are baptized in water. It is also a prophetic act, anticipating His return. Believers are to partake of it regularly until He comes again (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). 12. The Church We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, a spiritual house composed of all believers, regardless of race or denomination. The Church’s mission is to evangelize the world, edify the body of Christ, and prepare believers for the coming of the Lord (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Matthew 28:19-20). 13. The Second Coming of Christ We believe in the premillennial return of Jesus Christ. He will return to resurrect the righteous dead, catch up the living saints to meet Him in the air, and establish His millennial reign on earth. His return is imminent and is the blessed hope of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-7). 14. The Final Judgment We believe in the final judgment where the wicked, including Satan, the beast, and the false prophet, will be cast into the lake of fire, a place of eternal punishment. The righteous will inherit eternal life in the presence of God (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15; Matthew 25:46). 15. The New Heaven and New Earth We believe that God will create new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells. This will be the eternal home of the redeemed, where they will dwell with God forever in peace and joy (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1-4).
